Poland – Stakeholders from Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) fields have emerged as key contributors to Horizon Europe projects, demonstrating Poland’s strength in innovative research and implementation. In a recent event organized by the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes (KPK), success stories of Polish-coordinated initiatives were presented, including the IMPULSE project led by Żaneta Żegleń from the Jagiellonian University.
Highlighting Success Stories
Among the eight proposals funded in the 2023 and 2024 calls, four outstanding projects were showcased:
- IMPULSE, presented by Żaneta Żegleń, focuses on revolutionizing digitization methods and increasing the accessibility of digital cultural heritage. By addressing platform interoperability and exploring new contexts like virtual worlds, the project aims to enable innovative reuse of digitized collections.
- Link4Skills, led by Izabela Grabowska from Kozminski University, emphasizes skill development in response to evolving societal needs.
- SAUFEX, presented by Tomasz Chłoń from Łukasiewicz-PORT, explores sustainable solutions for emerging industries.
- ENCODE, coordinated by Agnieszka Kowalska from ASM – Market Research and Analysis Centre, delves into advanced methodologies for cultural and social research.
Fostering Collaboration for Upcoming Calls
The event also served as a platform for discussing opportunities in Horizon Europe’s Cluster 2: Culture, Creativity, and Inclusive Society, with a focus on the 2025–2027 calls. Representatives from the European Commission, including Jeanne Lenders and Ana-Maria Stan, provided valuable insights into upcoming initiatives, particularly in the areas of social transformations, resilience, and cultural heritage.
