On June 5, 2024, the IMPULSE project was presented to the Research Support Officers Working Group (RSO WG) during the Coimbra Group (CG) Annual Conference. This working group focuses on research development and supports academia in international research ventures.
The IMPULSE project, which aims to revolutionize digitization methods and create immersive, accessible experiences in education, arts, and cultural and creative sectors, perfectly aligned with this year’s conference theme: “Research and Education – Most Impactful Together.” The project’s focus on Extended Reality (XR) to engage underrepresented communities and its integration of visual arts and dance performances were key highlights.
The RSO WG, along with representatives from other CG working groups, is currently exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence in research. The IMPULSE project’s innovative approach to incorporating AI in cultural heritage and digital arts education was particularly relevant to these discussions.
During the workshop session in Turku, professionals and practitioners from public institutions, research, and education sectors shared best practices linked to the cultural and creative industries. The session emphasized the importance of collaboration and the potential for impactful research and education initiatives.
The IMPULSE project continues to build its #IMPULSECommunityOfPractice, fostering a network dedicated to the future of education and cultural heritage through innovative technology.
