Join us for a two-day online pre-hackathon where we kick off the prototyping phase of the IMPULSE Project. This collaborative session will bring together educators, students, developers, and artists to design innovative digital experiences that engage with cultural heritage collections in reciprocal and meaningful ways.
Workshop Highlights
Our goal is to extend the functionality of existing software libraries and components to create virtual environments that enable both rich interaction with heritage content and vibrant social engagement among participants. Following an incremental, prototype-driven development methodology, we will document workflows, address challenges, and aim to produce a high-quality, hi-fidelity prototype in the area of Artistic Practices —where quality outweighs quantity.
Participants will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on co-creation sessions using the IMPULSE platform prototype, offering access to immersive virtual worlds to interact with unique cultural heritage assets.
This workshop will place a strong emphasis on artistic research and creative experimentation. By interpreting digitised cultural heritage assets through speculative methods and performative engagement in metaverse worlds, we will explore new ways of arranging, experiencing, and understanding these assets. Artists will spatially reimagine heritage collections in immersive environments, offering fresh insights and expanding our cultural perspectives.
