On November 11-17th 2025 IMPULSE took part at the International Conference ICOM Dubai 2025 – The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities.
Dr. Joanna Ślaga (Jagiellonian University Museum) presented in session BC-14: 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹: 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺𝘀 with her talk: 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦: 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦. Her presentation explored how science and university museums can collect and interpret intangible scientific heritage in digital environments, based on two research projects at Jagiellonian University: IMPULSE and CHExRISH (Cultural Heritage Exploration and Retrieval with Intelligent Systems).
The talk highlighted how managing digital heritage requires moving beyond traditional materiality and focusing on code, interfaces, documentation, and social context.
