IMPULSE at Virtual Panel on Digital Cultural Heritage

Experiencing the event in this virtual format immediately demonstrated the real power of immersive technologies. People from different locations were able to meet, exchange ideas, and discuss cultural heritage together in ways that would not be possible in a traditional setting.

During the event, the IMPULSE project was presented, with a focus on the impact it aims to achieve. The discussion highlighted the ambition to unlock digitized cultural heritage and transform it into something that can be explored, reused, and reimagined within immersive environments.

The true value of virtual environments lies in shared and social experiences. Virtual platforms can transform heritage into active cultural spaces where people meet, explore together, and create new interpretations. Even if current hardware still limits mass adoption, there is strong optimism about future developments, particularly with lighter and more accessible AR and VR devices on the horizon. Immersive heritage is ultimately less about perfect realism and more about participation, connection, and keeping culture alive in new forms.
