IMPULSE at YOUTH HERITAGE DAYS 2025

The IMPULSE project is pleased to share its active participation in the “Youth Heritage Days” held from March 26–30, 2025, in Albarracín, Spain. Organized within the framework of the European Heritage Hub by the European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage (ESACH), Europa Nostra, and Hispania Nostra, this year’s event focused on the theme “Depopulation, Youth, and Cultural Heritage.”

The gathering brought together young researchers and heritage professionals to discuss the challenges posed by rural depopulation and to explore how cultural heritage can be a driver for sustainable community transformation.

As part of the event, Theodora Rontzova – Impulse Project Officer of KU Leuven, co-chaired the roundtable on Digital Transformation, presenting its innovative approach to the adaptive reuse of digitized cultural assets. The presentation highlighted IMPULSE’s commitment to empowering lesser-known cultural institutions—such as rural museums, libraries, and archives—by supporting their digitization efforts and facilitating the aggregation and sharing of digital heritage content. This aligns with IMPULSE’s broader mission to develop comprehensive solutions for digitization processes, improve accessibility, and foster interoperability across platforms, ensuring that rural heritage collections are not left behind in the digital era.
